Gray. His first wife was Cecelia Mauldin Gray. Jacob was born April 05, 1778
either in North Carolina or Virginia. Jacob and Cecelia lived on a hugh
plantation with slaves working the fields in Allendale, Barnwell District
according to a misplaced copy of his will. According to the will they had
the following children: Charles Tucker, William Parker, Leah (married a Wells),
Mahala (married a Gooding), Holland (married a Simmons), Jane (married a
Youmans), Hanson Cecelia (married James Owen Murray-my ancestors) and Jacob
A. Gray. After the death of Cecelia in 1842, Jacob remarried. His second
wife was Dorcas Fields (born July 10, 1815 d. March 16, 1883). Together they
had the following children: Martha, b. March 10, 1842 d. June 10, 1933 and
Joseph J. Gray, b. July 22, 1852 d. September 25, 1928. Jacob and Dorcas
are buried Allendale, Smithfield Cemetery, South Carolina. Cecelia was b.
about 1780, d. 1842, I do not know where she is buried. Her parents were
Tucker Mauldin and Caroline Arrington. Jacob and Cecelia were married about
1806. Jacob's father, William Gray, fought in the Revolutionary War (b. 1740-1750
d. ?), his mother's name was Sarah Parker (b. 1745-1750 d. ?). Sarah was
the daughter of Jacob Parker and ? I would appreciate hearing from anyone

Wright. May be buried in Salkehatchie Cemetery in Allendale County. Was a
housekeeper to John Weekley, s/o John Martin Weekley. Believe she was Alice
Z. Weekley's (Johnson) sister. Had adopted daughter Mary. ca 1890-1940. Believe
she was my ggrandmother's sister. Looking furiously for info on this side
