| Dannelley / Goatee |
Im intrigued by some bits of the puzzle that Ive come across
in researching this line. For example, the Dannelleys were Primitive Baptists,
several of them became ministers in Alabama----even now there is a current
family member who has received a PhD in religion and teaches at a university
in Texas---and I see that some of the Goattees left their Lutheran church
and became Primitive Baptists. Im wondering if my Dannelley relative
and my Goattee relative met through church connections in South Carolina

I would like to find where Evangeline Dowling is buried. I believe her
father to be Harry or Henry Dowling from the Peeples/Brunson area. Her mother
was Lillian Inez Nichols> Dowling. Her grandmother may have been Henretta
Dowling. She died in late 1920s or early 1930s. Evangeline was a small child
when she died. June 2006 |

| DuPuis |
I am looking for information about the DuPuis that lived in Hampton County
(St Peters Parish) in the late 1700s. I know that James DuPuis ran the ferry
across the Savannah river to Effingham GA. at Three Sisters. His ?father/brother
was John who possibly married Mary Stafford. They had two sons David Spicer
and Seth Stafford. David left for FL after the civil war and Seth remained
in SC. He is buried at the Lebonnon Church in Scotia. I have found reference
that Seth lived a few miles from the Hermitage Plantation. One of the Stafford
family (James Spicer i believe called him Uncle Seth) I believe our family
was intermixed with the Staffords, probably back to the early 1700 in NC
when James DuPuis married Fanny Stafford. She lived to be 96 (born 1729).
Although I have found census records, newspaper articles, and tax records
on the DuPuis family I have found very little about them.
