I John Hawkins, of the state of South Carolina Darlington District, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind, do make and establish this my last will and testament. Into the hands of God, my Savier, upon whom I have long hoped, I commit my body and spirit, in confident hope of everlasting salvation. It is my wish, that all my debts should be paid as soon as convenient. It is further my wish, that all my worldly substances after the payment of these debts remain together under the management of my beloved wife Lydia Hawkins, to be used by the family as in my life-time, till the death or marriage of my wife. At the death I wish my property to be equally divided amongst my children. I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Lydia Hawkins the executor of this my last will and testament. signed in the presence his Jne. Culpeper John X Hawkins H.W.
