Know all men by these presents that I, J. W. Beasley of said 
County and State fro and in behalf of J.H. Sammons and 
J. H. Sammons of the State of Texas for and in 
consideration of the sum of One Dollar to me in hand paid or
secured to be paid do grant bargain sell and release to John B.
Stewart a certain tract of land comprising the interest of the
said J.H. Sammons and J.W. Sammons in a tract of
land known as the Mary Smith land which is part of the estate of
Samuel Andrews deceased said interest consisting of six acres
more or less and to be bounded as per a plat lately executed by
(J) W. Atkinson surveyor that is on the east by J.B. Stewart, on 
the South by J.W. Beasley, on the west by E.B. Andrews and on 
the North by Mary Smith.  I do agree as attorney for the said 
J.H. Sammons and J.W. Sammons to forever warrant 
and defend said land to the said John B. Stewart his heirs 
administrators executors and assigns against the claim of any 
person or persons whatsoever claiming as heirs or assigns of 
J.W. Sammons and J.H. Sammons.  In witness whereof 
hereto affix my hand and seal this the tenth day of January 
(___) Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Three.

Know all men by these presents that I Hansel Sammon of 
the District and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the 
sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by 
David Grand of the same place have bargained and sold and by 
these presents do bargain and sell unto the said David Grant 
his heirs and assigns forever a certain Plantation of Tract of 
Land containing one hundred acres it being a part of a tract of 
land originally granted to Ezekiel Smith containing (___________) 
acres (bearing) date the (______) day of (______________) the 
part here by conveyed being the south ends of said tract of
lands (_______) of two hundred and forty six and a half acres
conveyed from the said Ezekiel Smith to William Langston bound
as follows (VIZ) North by Austin Temples land South by Samuel
Burris lands James Phillips lands by (Botts) (Betts) land east
by William Sloan's land and west by Ezekial Smiths land as will
appear by a Plat hereunto (amended).  Together with all and
singular (the) appurtenances thereunto belonging or in (_____)
appertaining. To have and to hold unto him the said David Grant
and assigns forever against me my heirs executors administrators
and assigns against all and every person or persons claiming or
to claim the same or any part of the said one hundred acres of
land.  In witness whereof I the said Hansel Sammon have
hereunto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of August in
the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eighteen and in the
forty third year of American Independence.

William Langston to Hansel Sammons

Know all men by these presents that I William Langston of the
State and District aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum
of one hundred dollars have Bargained and Sold and by these
presents do bargain and Sell unto Hansel Sammons of the
same place his heirs and assigns forever a certain Plantation or
part of a Tract of Land containing one hundred being part of a
tract of land originally granted to Ezekiel Smith containing 
________ acres recorded in Book_______ and dated this day of in
the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety.  The
part hereby conveyed being the South end of a tract of two 
hundred forty six and a half acres conveyed from Ezekiel Smith
to William Langston bounded as follows North by  __ustin Temples 
lands South by Samuel Burris's land, James Phillips, lands and
Scotts land East by William (Sloan's) lands and West Ezekiel
Smiths Lands as will appear by a plat hereunto amended.  To have 
and to hold unto him the said Hansel Sammons his heirs
and assigns forever against me my heirs Executors Administrators
and assigns and against all and every Person or Persons Claiming
or to claim the same or any part thereof.

In witness whereas I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
seal this nineteenth day of December one thousand eight-hundred
and three and in the twenty seventh year of American
Independence.

Know all )_______) by these presents that I James Sammons
of the state and district aforesaid for and in consideration of
the sum of (twenty) dollars to me in hand paid by John Garner,
Robert (Campbell) Henry (We_________) and Edward Hancil ___ the
same place have granted bargained sold and released by these
presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the named
trustees and their successors and assigns forever a certain
tract of land containing two and a half acres which is said of
for the use and purpose of building a Methodist Church and lying
on the North side of Lake swamp on the road leading from Camden
to Marion District.  Together with all and singular the rights
(numbers) hereditraments and appurtenances to said premises
belonging in any wise incident or appertaining to have and hold
all singular the premises before mentioned with the said
trustees and their successors and assigns to warrant and forever
defend to the said bargained premises unto the said Trustees and
assigns against myself my heirs and assigns and against all
(other) persons lawfully claiming any part thereof.  Witness my
hand and seal this the tenth day of march one thousand eight
hundred and thirty six and in the sixty first year of the
Independence of the United States of America.

Darlington District	}  that I Edward Runnels of the state and district
 aforementioned for and in (consideration) of the
sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by
James Sammons of the same state and district have (__)
bargained sold and released and by these by these presents do
bargain sell and release unto the said James Sammons all
that plantation (a) tract of land containing three hundred acres
be the same more or less lying on the south side of lake swamp
being a part of a tract of land (deeded) from ( Stephen L__eighs
to Jo- Hill) and from  (Jo- Hill) to the said Edward Reynolds
also one other tract of land deeded from Adam Stuart to said 
Reynolds having such shape and boundaries as are represented in 
the above deeds.  Together with all and singular the (members) 
hereditaments and appurtenances  to the said premises belonging
or in any wise in (incident) ord appertaining.  To have and to
hold all and singular the premises above mentioned unto the said
James Sammons his heirs and assigns (posession) and I do
(--ngly) bind myself my heirs executors and administrators to

 Know by all these presents that I Richard D F Rollings of the
 state and district aforesaid for and in consideration of (three)
 hundred dollars to me in hand paid by James Sammons of
 the state and district aforesaid have bargained sold and
 released and by these presents do bargain sell and release unto
 James Sammons aforesaid a certain tract or parcel of land
 being and lying in the state and district aforesaid on the
 south side of Lake Swamp beginning on a lightwood stake on said
 Sammons land in the back woods running 50 E to a stake corner
 thence NE to a pine corner thence west to a pine corner thence 
 N 20 E 27 to the run of Lake swamp thence up the (run) of Lake
 swamp to a pine corner (the____________) a pine on line on
 Richard Rolings Senr land to the beginning stake with the
 understanding there one acre included  (___________) the Lake
 Swamp church containing one hundred acres be the same more or
 less being a part of a tract of land conveyed by Richard 
 Rollings decd to his son Louis W. Rollings decd and by his
 legatees to Gregroy Rollings and by him to said R.D.F. Rollings
 together the rights hereditaments and appurtenances with and
 singular unto said Sammons the above named premises to have and
 to hold and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors
 administrators and assigns to warrant and forever defend unto
 said James Sammons his heirs and assigns forever against
 myself my heirs or assigns lawfully claiming any part thereof
 or any other person or persons by from or under me or them.  In

 Four Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by Lucy Sammons
 of the same place have Bargained Granted Sold and Released and
 by these presents do Grant Sell and Release unto the (_______)
 Lucy Sammons a certain piece or parcel of land
 containing one hundred acres situated in said District being
 part of a grant originally granted to Joseph  (Nesster) and 
 (is joined) on the NE and SE by the Estate lands of
 (______________) L (Pe_ _ gs_ __) and on the SW by Benjamin
 Revells Land and NW on Stephen Langstons land.  Together with
 all and singular the rights members hereditaments and
 appurtenances thereunto the premises belonging or in any wise

 To have and to Hold all and singular the above mentioned
 premises unto the said Lucy Sammons her Heirs and
 assigns for ever and I do hereby bind myself my Heirs Executors
 and Administrators to warrant and forever Defend all and
 singular the aforesaid premises unto the said Lucy Sammons her

WILL OF HANSEL SAMMONS

In the Name of God, Amen. I Hansel Sammons being now sound in health and mind
 and memory but calling to mind the mortality of my body And that it is
 appointed unto all men once to die and after that to Judgement Do ordain make
 and constitute this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following,
 Viz. First, I recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it And my body
 to be buried in a Christian form and order, And as to those earthly goods and
 chattels with which it hath been pleased to God to bless me with I give and
 bequeath in the following manner.  First I will that all my just debts and all
necessary expenses be paid. Second, I give to my beloved wife Ann Sammons the
free and full enjoyment of all my freehold and real estate together with the
three horse creatures which I now possess and all of my stock of cattle, hogs,
sheep & goats except two cows to my daughter Susan Sammons and also two other
cows and calves to my daughter Winney Sammons or otherwise Winney Runnels and
all the rest of my property both real and personal to continue with my wife
during her natural lifetime and after her death to be equally divided amongst
her lawful heirs and further I do make and appoint my wife Ann Sammons Sole
Executrix to this my last will and testament or in case of her failure I do
ordain and appoint my Son James Sammons to be my Sole Executor to this my last
will and testament Signed, sealed, declared and published to be my last will
and testament revoking all other wills and testaments made by me heretofore
this 8th day of November And in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred
and Thirty One and in the Fifty-Sixth year of the American Independency.

& chattels of Hansel Sammons Deceased. Wheresoever any of the said goods and
chattels are or do remain within the said parts & places end which shell be
shewn unto you by the said Ann Sammons and these view & appraise all and every
the said goods & chattles being first duly sworn on the holy Evangelist of
Almighty God, to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement thereof,
and to cause the same to be returned under your hands, or any three or four of
you, unto the said Ann Sammons, on or before the 15th of January next. Witness

the year of our Lord One Thousand & Eight Hundred & Thirty Six, and in the
