Classmates were identified by my dad, Harvey Church, and by Ethel Church Bowen. Special thanks to Paula Smith who helped with this project.

The old wooden school burned not too long after this photo was made. My mother lived in the parsonage across the road from the school and church. She told me she and her sister pumped buckets of water at the hand pump on their back porch that long night, for the men fighting the fire.
