Attended Clemson for two years. Enlisted April 11, 1942 at Fort Jackson, SC. 1st Lieutenant Rowland was on Guadalcanal for 14 months; from March 1944 until June 1945, when he was transferred to the Philippines. Promoted to Captain on Dec. 31, 1944.
