Miss Bessie Stackhouse, a Granddaughter, Dies Within Short Time After
Miss Bessie Stackhouse Dead.
Special to the State.
Dillon---June 7---Miss Bessie, the 17 year old daughter of Randolph P and Lucy Stackhouse, died this morning at 10 o'clock, just six hours after her grandfather passed away. Rather frail of body from her early childhood, she had been the object of peculiar care and devotion on the part of her parents, and just budding into sweet young womanhood, their loving sacrifice seemed about to have their reward, when about 10 weeks ago they found it necessary to bring her home from Lander Female College. Her sickness, hoped at first to be only temporary, however, rapidly developed into serious and inretractable complications that resisted everything that love and skill could suggest. The end came quietly after many weeks of painful suffering.
Miss Bessie will be buried at the same hour and place with her grandfather.
[Note from transcriber: Her granddaughter's obit is printed directly above hers on
the front page of the State.]
