Death Claims Mrs Walter Herring
Mrs Annie May Tolar Herring, wife of Walter Herring, passed away at her
home in West Dillon Friday afternoon after a long illness. She was 34 years
old Dec. fifth.
Mrs Herring was the daughter of Mrs J M Tolar and the late Mr Tolar. She
was a woman of many fine traits of character, devoted to her home and church.
She bore her illness with patience and fortitude making it a pleasure to those
around her to administer to her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church
and until her illness a regular attendant of the Lila Watson Sunday School
Class.
Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 3 0'clock Saturday
afternoon by her pastor, Dr J A Ward, and interment was in Riverside cemetery.
Many beautiful flowers covered the mound.
Mrs Herring is survived by her husband and mother; four children,
Mary Frances, Betty Ann Walter, Jr, and Marion; one sister, Mrs M J Stainback,
Greensboro, NC; three brothers, Jack Tolar, Dillon; J R Tolar, Washington, DC;
and G M Tolar, Landis, NC.
The following were pallbearers: J Frank Thompson, Larry Summers,
Troy Meares, Roy Sawyer, Percy Williams, and L D Reid.
