Mrs F M Medlin Claimed by Death

Mrs Frank Medlin passed away at her home in West Dillon Tuesday morning and the news of her death brought sorrow to many friends and relatives throughout the county. She had been in ill health for some time but a change for the worst came a week ago. Mrs Medlin was the former Miss Mary Ellen Bethea, daughter of John W and Janet McLaurin Bethea, was born in the Little Rock section April 2nd 1862, and would soon have been 74 years of age. She was married to F M Medlin of Cheraw December 22, 1887, and with the exception of a few years spent in Rowland they made their home in Dillon.

Mrs Medlin was a member of the Methodist Church and was widely loved. Surviving are her husband and four children; Percy B Medlin of Winston-Salem; Miss Irma Medlin, James C Medlin and F L Medlin, of Dillon. 16 grandchildren, and three nieces and one nephew; Mrs Joe Meadors and Mrs Knox Alford, Dillon; Mrs Floy Henry, Latta and Robert Brunson, Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral services were conducted by Rev G F Edwards, her pastor, assisted by Rev J A Ward at the residence at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery by the side of two children, W R and Carl Medlin, who preceeded her to the grave several years ago.
