Southern Christian Advocate Vol 106 #7 pg 10 col 2 Feb 19, 1942 issue, from Sandor Teszler Library of Wofford College:
Mrs D W Bethea
In sadness we record the passing of Mrs D W Bethea, December 12, 1941.
We miss her from her usual place, our hearts are full of sorrow, but we cherish the memory of our dear friend and co-worker. Though dead, she yet speaketh through her faithfulness, her beautiful life and devoted service. They are not dead who live in hearts they leave behind---eternal life is theirs throughout the years and time declares their immortality.
We, the members of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Dillon Methodist Church desire to express our sorrow at her passing and pay tribute to her memory.
Therefore it is resolved:
First, that while we are deeply grieved and feel most keenly her loss to the church and community, we humbly submit to the will of our Heavenly Father.
Second, that we extend to her bereaved family our tenderest sympathy, praying that God will sustain and comfort them in their great bereavement.
Third, that a copy of this tribute be sent to the family, to the Southern Christian Advocate, and a page in our minutes be dedicated to her memory.
"Rest, laborer, rest, complete thy work we find, Thou art more blessed than we who are left behind; Thy work on earth is done; rest in God's home."
