Mrs Lucy Herring, Aged Nearly 90, Died Friday
Mrs Lucy Herring died late Friday evening at St Eugene Hospital after a lingering illness.
Born in Dillon County in 1856, she would have reached her 90th birthday next November. She was a lifelong resident of Kentyre.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs Annie Rowell of Myrtle Beach, Mrs Malinda Miller of Mt Holly, NC., Mrs Thomas Herring and Mrs Mattie McDaniel of Dillon, Mrs Eula P Dampler of Long Beach, California, and James R Herring of Charleston. One brother, George McDaniel , and a sister, Mrs Sara Bullock of McColl also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kentyre Presbyterian Church with the Rev W B Boyle in charge. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Dillon--Feb 9--(Special)--Mrs Lucy Herring, 89, died late yesterday evening at the St Eugene hospital after a lingering illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Kentyre section.
Mrs Herring is survived by the following children: Mrs Annie Rowell of Myrtle Beach, Mrs Malinda Miller of Mt Holly, NC., Mrs Thomas Herring and Mrs Mattie McDaniel of Dillon, Mrs Edna P Dampler of Long Beach, California, and James R Herring of Charleston.
One brother, George McDaniel of Dillon, and one sister, Mrs Sara Bullock of McColl also survive her.
