Mr Peter Herring Dies Near Kentyre

Peter Robert Herring, 77, died Friday night following a short illness. Mr Herring had been in declining health for several years and his death occurred soon after he was taken to McLeod's Infirmary in Florence.

He spent his entire life in the Kentyre community where he was born February 17, 1861.

Mr Herring was a man of many fine traits of character, and his death is greatly regretted by a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 3 oclock Sunday afternoon at Kentyre Presbyterian Church and were conducted by Rev W D Arnold, the former pastor. Interment was in the Kentyre Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife and seven children.
