Sidney Allen
Funeral services for Sidney McMillan Allen, 71, who died Wednesday
morning of last week in a Fayetteville, N.C. hospital, were held last Friday
afternoon at 3 o'clock from Mt. Calvary church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Dillon.
He was the son of the late John Howard and Polly Elizabeth Rowell Allen.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Faircloth of
Wrightsville Beach; Mrs. Cora Phipps, Mrs. Ivy Harris, and Mrs. Josie Brock,
all of Fayetteville; five sisters, Mrs. Rachel Herring, Miss Lenora Allen,
Mrs. Mary Jane Herring, Mrs. Rosie McKenzie and Mrs. Letta McKenzie, all of
Dillon; four brothers, Shell, John, and Lawrence Allen, all of Dillon, and
Pete Allen of Hebron, Md., and six grandchildren.
Mr. Allen was a member of Mt. Calvary Church.
