Funeral Services Held For George Rowell
George Rowell, 86, of near Hamer died at his home on Wednesday night, October 4, at 9:15 after an illness of four weeks.
Funeral Services were held at the home on the following Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock with interment in Pee Dee cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie McNeil Rowell; two sons, Frank of Hamer and Albert of Dillon; five daughters, Mrs. Isaac Hyatt of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Henry Rogers, Hamer, Mrs. Blanche Braswell of the home, Mrs. Herbert Legette, and Mrs. Marvin Legette, both of Hahira, Ga; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Locke, Hamer. 39 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers were grandsons, Jack Braswell, Legrand, Gurnie, Edward, and Homer Rowell and Tommy Rogers. Flower girls were Ilene Braswell, Cassie, Ester, Eva Mae and Attie Emma Rowell, Betty Jo Bethea and Dorothy Locke.
[NOTE: The obituary failed to mention, Mr. George Rowell was the son of the late
David and Nancy Miller Rowell of Dillon County.
