Sandy Herring

Bennettsville---Sandy Herring, World War I veteran, died in the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, NC Saturday morning after several years of declining health.

He was the son of the late George and Jane Norton Herring of Dillon County.

Survivors include his wife, Annie C Herring and the following children; Major Herring of Salisbury, NC., Roland E Herring, US Army in Texas, Mrs Goleta Greenwood of Cayce and Mrs Margaret Frazier of Bennettsville; one brother, Fred Herring, and two sisters, Mrs Leila Hargrove and Mrs Malinda Hargrove of Dillon.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Second Baptist Church at 4:30 pm Monday. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. (wife's obit on Marlboro County)
