Services are held Saturday
Lillie Mae Hyatt Herring, 73, died Thursday in a hospital here after a short
illness. Mrs Herring was born in Dillon County, a daughter of the late
Andrew and Charity Small Cook. She was a housewife.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs Roxie Caulder and Mrs Linda Herring,
both of Dillon, Mrs Carolyn Powell and Mrs Ima Graves, both of Laurinburg,
NC, Mrs Eva Lovelace, Sumter; a step-daughter, Mrs Sara Lee, Latta; seven
sons, Oliver Hyatt, Laurinburg, Lee Hyatt and Archie Hyatt, both of Raleigh,
NC, Edward Hyatt and Paul Powell, both of Dillon, Robert Hyatt, Washington,
NC; four step-sons, Keever Herring, Hagood Herring, and Edgar Herring, all of
Dillon, Luther Herring, Aiken, 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday in Dillon Second Baptist Church with burial in
Greenlawn Cemetery.
