Rufus Herring, Jr

Dillon---Rufus "Grady" Herring, Jr., 53, died Wednesday in a Dillon hospital.

Born in Dillon County, he was a son of the late Rufus and Pearlie Cook Herring. He was retired employee of Buck Creek Industries.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Martha McNeil Herring; a son, Jackie Herring of Dillon; four brothers, Leneau Herring of Laurinburg, NC., Gerald Herring of Charleston, W L Herring of Boonton, NJ., and Leo Herring of Dillon; two sisters, Mrs Inez Hoggins (Hoagland?) and Mrs Thelma Callahan of Boonton, NJ.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 4:30 pm Friday at Dillon Church of God, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Jackson-Witherspoon Funeral Home is in charge.
