N Cicero Herring, Grocer, Dies at 66

Dillon---Narcissus Cicero Herring, 66, died Sunday at a local hospital after a long illness.

Born in Dillon County, he was a son of the late Samuel A and Emaline Taylor Herring. He was the owner-operator of Herring's Grocery and was a member of Mackey Masonic Lodge AFM, and a former deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Sam B Herring of Dillon and Jerome P Herring of Youngsville, NC., and three sisters, Misses Isla and Minnie Herring and Mrs Helen H Rogers of Dillon.

Services will be at 4pm Monday at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery. The family suggests that those wishing may make memorials to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church building fund. Blanton-Cottingham Funeral Home is in charge.
