J W Herring

Floydale---J W "Whit" Herring, 81, died Thursday in a Marion hospital. Services will be at 4pm Saturday in Pyerian Baptist Church. Born in Marion County, he was a son of the late Jesse Herring and Kitsy Rogers Herring. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs Bonnie M Herring; two daughters, Mrs Louise Hamilton of Dillon and Mrs Aline Hardy of Latta; three sons, J W Herring, Jr of Bedford, Ohio, Tom Herring of Marion, and Neil Herring, Jr of Dillon; a brother, T B Herring of Cheraw; and six sisters, Mrs Betty King of Cheraw, Mrs Zula Norris of Rockingham, NC, Mrs Fodie Jackson of Raleigh, NC., and Mrs Roxie Wallace, Mrs Golden Quick and Mrs Marietta Stean of Bennettsville. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge.
