Edmond Herring
Dillon---Edmond Herring, 80, died Sunday at a Dillon hospital after a long
illness.
Born in Marion County, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Sally
Tucker Herring. He was a carpenter and a World War II U S Army veteran.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs Lillie Cook (Hyatt) Herring of Dillon; a
daughter, Mrs Vondell Lee of Latta; five sons, Edgar, Keever, and Hagood
Herring of Dillon, Earl Herring of Hollywood, Fla, and Luther Herring of
Aiken; a brother, Beechman Herring of Georgetown; five step-daughters, Mrs
Roxie Caulder, Mrs Eva Lovelace, and Mrs Linda Herring of Dillon, Mrs Carolyn
Powell and Mrs Ima Graves; seven step-sons, Oliver and Arch Hyatt of
Laurinburg, NC., Edward Hyatt and Paul Powell of Dillon, Lee Hyatt of
Raleigh, NC, Rob Hyatt of Washington, NC., and David Hyatt of Leland, NC; 30
grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 4pm today at Dillon Second Baptist Church, with burial
in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Cooper Funeral Home is in charge.
