Marion Kenneth Herring, Sr.
Marion Kenneth Herring, Sr., age 77, of 1308 Grove Street, Greensboro, NC, passed away November 16, 2000 at Moses Cone Hospital. Graveside services were held Monday, November 20, 2000 at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Herring was retired from Steel Heddle Manufacturing Company and was a WWII Veteran of the US Army and served another 29 years in the National Guard, was a lifetime member of the American Legion and was a member of the VFW Post #2087.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gertrude Herring of the home; four
daughters, Rebecca E Herring, Helen Anne Burns, Alice Marie Thomas, all of Greensboro,
and Louise Lewis of Winston-Salem; one son, Marion Kenneth Herring, Jr of the home;
one sister, Mary Frances Shipman of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Walter L Herring, Jr.
of Greensboro, NC; four grandsons, Donnie Norris of Clover, SC, David Norris of
Greensboro, Daniel Cobb of Climax, and CJ Lewis of Winston-Salem; and three
great-grandchildren, Danyelle Nicole Norris, Blake Andrew Norris, and David Allen
Norris, Jr.
