STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA NO. 1221
To all to whom these presence shall come, Greeting:
Know ye that for and in consideration of the
Sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres
hereby granted, paid unto our treasury by Samuel
Haines have, given and granted and by these presents
do give and grant unto the said Samuel Haines a
tract of land containing one hundred acres, lying and
being in our County of Bladen on the West side of Ashpole
Beginning in Dudley Locklears lower line, and running South one
hundred and twenty seven poles to a hickory then East
one hundred twenty seven poles to a stake, then North
one hundred twenty seven poles to a stake, then West
one hundred twenty seven poles to the beginning
Granted at Kinston the tenth day of Oct in the
twelfth year of our independence. A.D. 1787
Entered the 2nd of Feby 1780 [sic]. Rd Caswell
