W.S. Foxworth

William S. Foxworth, 78, died at his home in Marion, April 1, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were conducted by Dr. Peter Stokes of the First Methodist church, Dr. Rufus Ford of the Baptist church and Dr. J.M. Holliday of the Presbyterian church at the residence Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment following in Rosehill cemetery.

Mr. Foxworth was a native of Marion county. He was a member of the Methodist church and for years gave himself unstintedly to religious effort especially laboring for revivals in neglected portions of the country.

For more than 50 years he was active in the mercantile business, agriculture and banking and also had large investments in Florida. He had retired some months ago.

Mr. Foxworth was twice married, first to Miss Catherine Smith, who died four years ago, and then to Mrs. Ford Bryant, who survives him. He leaves one son, Howard Foxworth; three daughters, Mrs. Will Martin, Mrs. John Thompson, and Mrs. Virginia Winders, and six grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. H.M. Harrelson and Mrs. Nat Smith of Marion, also survives.
