Dr. Wm. M. Davis Dead
Mullins, June 17th - Dr. Wm. M. Davis died here this morning in his 74th year. While he had been in feeble health some time, his death was quite unexpected, as he was only sick a few days and his sickness was only thought to be a slight attack of malaria.
He was born in Marion county, near Eulonia, and resided there until the breaking out of the Civil war, when he moved to the west side of the great Pee Dee, now Florence county where he lived up to three years ago, moving then to this place. He commenced the practice of medicine early in the '50s and continued it up to his removal to Mullins. At the time he gave it up on account of his age. He married Miss Mary Beelan of Florence county who died several years ago. He was one of the old school type of gentleman and was highly thought of and respected. He is survived by three sons and three daughters. The burial will be near his old home in Florence county.
