LAKE WATEREE -- Services for Jasper P. "Jeep" Rogers, 70, will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2000, at the Chapel at Lake Wateree conducted
by Dr. Harry Phillips and Dr. Guy Oliver. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 this evening at Pope Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Memorials may be made to the Chapel at Lake Wateree, 3257 Old Windmill Road, Ridgeway,
SC 29130, or to the Disabled American Veterans, 1801 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
Mr. Rogers died Wednesday, November 15, 2000. Born in Marion Co.
January 15, 1930, he was a son of the late Jasper Neal Rogers and Indianna Butler Rogers.
He was a graduate of Mullins High School and the University of South Carolina.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and retired from Bell South
after 30 years of service. He was a charter member of the Chapel at Lake Wateree
where he has served several times as an Elder. He was a member and Past Commander
of V.F.W. Post 8346. Surviving are his widow of 52 years, Cecile Nettles Rogers;
daughter, Roxanna Butler and her husband, Michael, of Sonoma, Calif.;
son, Phil Rogers and his wife Linda, of Mobile, Ala.; grandsons, Travis Rogers,
Lawrence Cox, Jasper Butler; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters.
