Funeral Today for Mrs Sarah Snipes
Marion--July 22--Funeral services for Mrs Sarah Porter Snipes, wife of W H Snipes of Rocky Mount, NC, brother of Senator W E Snipes of this city, will be held here at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of her mother-in-law, Mrs Wilson Snipes. Mrs Snipes died at her home in Rocky Mount, NC Thursday afternoonafter an illness of several months. The remains will arrive in Marion tomorrow morning.
She was the daughter of the late John Porter of this city and has several surviving brothers and sisters living in and near Marion.
Funeral services will be in charge of (think they left out the word the after the word in...cgk) the Rev W Roy Phillips, pastor of the First Methodist Church here, assisted by the Rev John K Johnston, pastor of the Marion Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Rose Hill.
Her husband and two daughters, Alice Maude Snipes and Hilda Aileen Snipes, all of Rocky Mount, survive her.
