John William Deaver
John William Deaver--McColl---Jan 8 (special)--John William Deaver, 79
(looks like 79, may be 78) died at his home here late this afternoon after an illness of six weeks.
Funeral services will be held from his home at 3:30 Sunday afternoon.
Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
Mr Deaver was born in Mullins,
the son of Alex and Nora Rogers Deaver. He came to McColl forty
years ago to serve as overseer for the Marlboro Cotton Mill, now known
as the Plymouth Manufacturing Company, Incorporated, and was recently
awarded a 40 year service pin by the Plymouth Manufacturing Company.
He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church.
He is survived by two brothers,
Sam Deaver of Marion and H V Deaver of Fayetville, NC; one sister, Mrs
Bessie Moody of Wendell, NC; four sons, A D, W H, H W, and
C H Deaver, all of McColl, and O H Deaver of Mullins; two daughters,
Mrs George Adams and Mrs Woodrow Jackson, both of McColl; 18
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
