County of MarlboroughIn the name of God, Amen! I Mary Ann Strickland the wife of Spencer J. Strickland of the County and State aforesaid, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, but in feeble health, and in view of the uncertainty of human life, do publish and declare that the following is my last will and testament, revoking all others by my mark.
Item First
I will and devise that all my just debts be paid as early after my death as practiacable.Item Second
I give, devise and bequeath all my personal estate of every kind and character whatsoever, and all my real estate containing one hundred and thirty two acres, situate in the County and State aforesaid, bounded on the north by W.D. & T. V. Evans land; on the East by land of W.D. Crosland; on the South by lands of John K. Pegues and on the West by land of John K. Pegues and of W.D. and T.V. Evans being the tract whereon I now reside and my entire interest, in what is known as the Eliza D. Bridges land now in litigation in the Court of Common Plea in said County and State aforesaid, to my beloved husband Spencer J. Strickland, for and during the term of his natural life, and upon his death should he survive me, to my son Thomas Strickland for and during the term of his natural life, and upon his death to my grandchildren Sydney James Strickland, Fannie Harris, wife of John Harris and Annie McIlveen in equal shares - share and share alike, to them and their heirs forever.Item Third
I hereby nominate and appoint my friend William D. Crosland the executor of this my last will and testament revoking all others. In testimoney whereof, I have hereunto at my hand and seal this the 25th day of February 1887.Mary Ann Strickland her mark
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Mary Ann Strickland as and for her last will and testament in the presence of me, who at her request and in her presence, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names at witness thereunto
