Birth: 21 July 1816, Sievern, Germany

Death: 27 August 1876, Walhalla, Oconee County, SC

Buried: St. Johns Lutheren Cemetery in Walhalla. Due to spontaneous sentiment, his remains were removed to Bethany Cemetery, Charleston, South Carolina where he was re intered in the German Artillery Section on 30 march 1877.
