  Sloan, James Fowler, 2nd Lieutenant & Adjutant, born August 1819 in Laurens County, SC. Was a Captain in the pre-war 37th Regiment of Miltita. Joined Holcombe Legion, Company B in 1861, leaving due to ill health.
