DILLON--Services for James Lester Cook, Sr. will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday in East
Dillon Baptist Church with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held 7-9 Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Cook, 72, died Monday, September 8, 2003 at his residence after an illness.
Born in Dillon County, October 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Rembert Cook, Sr. and
Celia Stokes Cook. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church
and the Southern Hunting Club (Blenheim), and was retired as Superintendent for Kinsey Construction
Company, and was a Greeter at Wal-Mart.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Cook of Dillon; daughters and sons-in-law, Myra Faye and
Larry Owens of Myrtle Beach, Susie and John Lee of Hamer, Kathy and Robbie Brown of Dillon and Brenda and
Carson Turner of Dillon; sons and daughters-in-law, Worth and Pam Cook of Myrtle Beach, Craig and Missy Cook
of Latta, John Cook of Dillon, James Lester Cook, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, Terry and Traci Norton of Lake View,
David Roberts of Dillon and Ricky Roberts of California; sisters, Rosa Meredith of Thomasville, NC,
Martha Proctor of Latta, Addie Jean Snipes of Lake View and Norita Williams of High Point, NC;
brothers, Rembert Cook, Jr., Edward Cook, Brent Cook and Jack Cook, all of Dillon; 19 grandchildren;
