Jane Carmichael, 18, of Latta Dies After Long Illness
Latta---Aug ---(Special)--Miss Jane Carmichael, 18, daughter of Superintendent and Mrs B F Carmichael of Latta, died suddenly about noon today in the McLeod's Infirmary in Florence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from her home by the Rev G S Taylor, assisted by the Rev T J Anderson. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Jane, in declining health for months, was an outstanding student of Latta High School, of which her father is superintendent, graduating in June as an honor student. She was active in all of the school clubs, and editor of this year's school annual. She was a regular attendant of the Latta Methodist Church and Sunday School.
Jane's cheerful attitude toward life was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her influence will long be felt among her classmates.
She is survived by her father and mother, Jennielee Dew, and one sister, Marilyn Carmichael of Los Angeles, Calif.
