Malloy, Theodore F., Captain, Born 2/10/41 in Cheraw. At out break of war
engaged in studying medicine. Enlisted as a Sergeant 4/13/61. Promoted
Lieutenant. Promoted Captain 7/20/63. Detached while in Cheraw at the end of
February, 1865 to be in charge of scouts who stayed on Sherman's right flank
skirmishing almost every day. Mercantile businessman in Cheraw & later in
Kollock's. Surrendered Greensboro. Married Mary Bell McKay in 1883. Served 4
year term as treasurer of Chesterfield Co. and mayor of Cheraw. Died 3/14/16 in
Cheraw.
